Organized by the Nepal Geological Students’ Society (NGSS), the program was conducted from 22 to 24 February 2026 at the Central Department of Geology.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our trainer, Mr. Saroj Shrestha (Engineering Geologist), for his exceptional guidance and insightful instruction on the practical application of AutoCAD in geological mapping. His expertise greatly enriched the learning experience of all participants.

We are equally grateful to the Central Department of Geology for generously providing the training venue and for their continued institutional support, which was instrumental in the program’s successful execution. Our heartfelt thanks also go to all participants for their active engagement, dedication, and enthusiasm throughout the training.

The program was graced by the esteemed presence of Hon. Om Prakash Aryal, Minister of Home Affairs, Government of Nepal, as the Chief Guest. His participation underscored the government’s commitment to disaster risk reduction, seismic resilience, and community-centered preparedness. The minister’s address emphasized the need for intergovernmental coordination, institutionalizing local efforts, and effective implementation of early warning systems.

The event was also attended by Ms. Sunita Dangol, Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, who chaired the programme and reiterated the importance of community capacity, indigenous skills, and integrated planning for a disaster-resilient metropolis
