As part of this collaborative initiative, two flagship programs were conducted:

  • Symposium on Groundwater Matters
  • Technical Workshop on Practical Challenges in Groundwater Development

These events brought together students, emerging researchers, and seasoned professionals, providing a dynamic platform for rigorous intellectual exchange, technical skill development, and meaningful dialogue on critical issues in groundwater science and sustainable water resource management.

The symposium facilitated in-depth discussions on groundwater sustainability, while the workshop provided participants with practical insights into the multifaceted challenges of groundwater development, particularly in the Nepalese context.

We extend our profound gratitude to all resource persons, distinguished speakers, participants, and supporting organizations whose invaluable contributions were instrumental in the success of these programs. Their collective expertise and engagement significantly enriched the discourse and strengthened the spirit of interdisciplinary collaboration.

The three organizing societies, NGS, NHA, and NGSS, remain steadfast in their shared commitment to advancing groundwater science and promoting sustainable water resource management practices across Nepal.
We sincerely appreciate your continued support and participation.

The lecture was delivered by Mr. Jharendra K.C., a seasoned engineering geologist and geotechnical expert from Rastriya Prasaran Grid Company Limited (RPGCL). Drawing on extensive field experience from major national projects, including the Upper Tamakoshi and Upper Tirushili hydropower initiatives, Mr. K.C. provided a practical and in-depth analysis of geo-hazard assessment, slope stability, and risk mitigation in transmission line development across Nepal’s demanding terrain.

The session fostered meaningful dialogue on integrating geological insights into infrastructure planning, with emphasis on safety, cost-effectiveness, and sustainable design. NGSS extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Jharendra K.C. for his invaluable contribution and to all participants for their active engagement.

The society remains committed to organizing such informative programs to enhance the professional readiness of emerging geologists.
