Share now The Nepal Geological Students’ Society (NGSS) successfully conducted a three-day online training on “Applied GIS for Geoscience” from September 19–21, 2025 (Ashoj 3–5, 2082 BS). The sessions were led by Mr. Bishal Babu Poudel (M.Sc. in Disaster Risk Engineering & Management; B.Sc. in Geology) and focused on practical, hands-on applications in geological mapping, spatial analysis, and project-oriented geoscience tasks. Participants actively engaged in interactive exercises, acquiring valuable experience in applying GIS tools to real-world geoscientific challenges. Upon completion, all attendees received e-certificates, recognizing their enhanced technical competence and confidence in utilizing geospatial technologies for both academic and professional purposes. Overall, the training successfully promoted the integration of GIS into modern geoscience workflows, supporting evidence-based research and enabling informed decision-making.
