Nepal Geological Students' Society (NGSS)
A Professional Organization of Geology Students in Nepal
The Nepal Geological Students’ Society (NGSS) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1990 A.D. Its office is located within the premises of the Central Department of Geology (CDG) at Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur, Kathmandu. NGSS was formally registered with the District Administration Office (DAO) in Kathmandu in 2014 A.D., reflecting its commitment to advancing the field of geosciences in Nepal.
NGSS serves as a united platform for geology students across Nepal. Its membership includes students pursuing M.Sc. in Geology and M.Sc. in Engineering Geology from both the Central Department of Geology (CDG) and Tri-Chandra Multiple Campus in Kathmandu. Additionally, B.Sc. Geology students in their fourth year from institutions such as Central Campus of Technology (CCT) in Dharan, Prithvi Narayan (P.N.) Campus in Pokhara, Birendra Multiple Campus in Chitwan, and Tri-Chandra Multiple Campus in Kathmandu are also integral members of the society.
Our MissionNGSS aims to bring together geology students from all across Nepal, creating a collective force that works towards promoting and protecting the rights and interests of geology students. Our goal is to contribute to the overall development and growth of the geosciences sector in Nepal by fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and advocating for the importance of geology in national development.
